About Us

Hello! We're Ophidian Odyssey and we're reptile breeders based out of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. We're lifelong animal lovers and have been pet parents to cats, dogs, fish, reptiles, and rodents. We got our first ball python eighteen years ago and were hooked. In October 2020, a love for ball pythons and a desire to produce our own gorgeous morphs led us to the decision to start breeding these awesome little creatures.

We decided to breed these animals because we love them so much. That's why the health and well-being of all our animals is of the upmost importance. We check on our animals daily and inspect both them and their enclosures to ensure everyone and everything is safe, sanitary, and thriving. The reptiles in our collection have a wide range of personalities and temperaments, so some are more outgoing than others, but we spend time with each animal regularly to socialize them and ensure they are comfortable in their environment.

All of our ball pythons are kept in plastic tubs with temperature-controlled belly heat. We use THG heat tape regulated by Herpstats or VE-200s. Each snake has access to a hot hide and cool hide / humidity box and artificial plants to provide enrichment. Fresh, dechlorinated water is provided and any messes removed daily. We feed primarily frozen / thawed rats, with the exception of some of our pickier eaters. Our snakes who eat live never do so unattended.

We are excited about our future projects! Right now it's mostly Fireflies, Pastels, and Pinstripes on the way, but BELs, Clowns, Pieds, G-Stripes, and other little beauties are planned. We also have a potential dinker so we'll see what she's able to produce. All of our ball pythons are captive bred. Check us out on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter or join our mailing list to get updates on upcoming clutches and new hatchlings. Please contact us if you need advice or have any questions.
